STARRING : Sharawanand, Ananya, Jai, Anjali and others MUSIC : Satya DIRECTOR : Saravanan RELEASE DATE : December 16th, 2011 Good Story: The story is a mix of love, life and emotions. Sharawanand is in Hyderabad. He helps Annaya a girl from a small village, who came to Hyderabad to attend an interview. After that Sharawanand leaves for his hometown Vijayawada. It is only after some time that both Sharawanand and Ananya realize that they not just like each other but are also in love. So Sharawananad takes a bus from Vijayawada to meet Ananya in Hyderabad. At the same time Ananya boards a bus in Hyderabad to meet Sharawananad in Vijayawada. On a parallel note there is another couple who are in love. They are Jai and Anjali. Jai is a shy boy while Anjali is an outspoken person. They both fall in love and the two of them board the same bus as that of Sharawananad. Jai is taking Anjali to his hometown to introduce her to his parents. The two buses coming from Hyderabad and Vijayawada respectively collide near Suryapet. The big accident results in not only the death of some passengers but many more are injured. The remaining part of the story is about the people in the two buses, their lives and the nightmare that they have to go through. What happens to the two set of lovers is the suspense element that must be seen on the screen. Performance: Sharawananad has come up with excellent performance in films earlier. He comes up with a brilliant performance this time too. He is a good actor and he is sure to make it big in future. Ananya is cute and also has acting talent. She does justice to her role. Jai is good and he improves as the film progresses. Anjali is apt for the role. All the four have done full justice to their roles. Analysis: Journey is a film that is not the regular run of the mill film. It is a film that is very close to reality. The director explores the various facets of life and the emotions and relationships. The film has a strong dose of everyday life and looks at life in a deep manner that one normally does not want to see or experience. The director conveys a lot without boring or turning preachy. Verdict: The film has a good storyline, an interesting screenplay, good music and RR and the acting by the lead actors is good. The director shows remarkable skill and he is ably assisted by the cinematographer. The film is a emotional journey and one that is very close to everyday life. As such the regular film buffs who go to watch movies for regular entertainment like love, action and fights will not be pleased. Still Journey is a powerful film with a good message and values and can be seen once. |
Rajanna Review
STARRING : Nagarjuna, Baby Annie, Swetha Menon, Sneha and others MUSIC : M.M Keeravani DIRECTOR : Vijayendra Prasad RELEASE DATE : December 22nd, 2011 Good The much awaited film Rajanna has finally hit the screens. The film is produced by Nagarjuna and it is about a valiant freedom fighter from Telangana. Let us see how the film has turned out to be. Story: The story is set in the 1950's. It is about the fight of the poor people in Telangana against the cruel Razakars who were the private army of the Nizam. The Razakars used to torment the people and the village heads too used to make the people suffer in many ways. Rajanna (Nagarjuna) fights for the country's freedom but his fight is not yet over even after India acquired Independence as the Hyderabad state is still under Nizam rule. Rajanna inspires the people to fight the oppressive Razakars and get freedom for the village. He inspires people thorough his songs. Rajanna dies before he can get freedom for his village. Rajanna has a small daughter Mallamma (Baby Annie). She is rescued by Nazar a music teacher. He brings her up and teaches her music. Mallamma grows up without knowing that she is the daughter of Rajanna. The village dorasani (Swetha Menon) tries to kill Mallamma but does not succeed. Mallamma goes to Delhi to meet prime minster Nehru to request him to see that her village is set free from the tyranny of Nizam and his private army. Even before Mallamma can meet Nehru the goons sent by Dorasani abduct Mallamma and her music teacher and lock them up. At this point the music teacher tells Mallamma all about her father Rajanna and his brave fight for freedom. What happens next is the story that unveils on the silver screen. Performance: While the film has Nagarjuna in a pivotal role it is baby Annie who steals the show. She hogs a lot of screen space and does an excellent job. She is truly brilliant and does full justice to the role. Nagarjuna appears only for a short duration. He does a good job and his song and speech in Telangana dialect are impressive. Swetha Menon as Dorasani is apt for her role. Nazar is good. The rest of the star cast from Pradeep Rawat, Supreet, Sravan, Gandhi and others do justice to their roles. Analysis: Rajanna is a beautiful film with a good story and racy screenplay. Director Vijayendra Prasad has come up with a good story and he also brings it beautifully on screen. The music is a big asset for the film. Keeravani does a wonderful job and the music adds a lot to the overall impact of the film. Rajamouli has canned the action scenes in a fantastic way. His stamp is clearly visible in the action episodes. The cinematography is excellent and the period sets too are very realistic and awesome. In short everything about Rajanna works right and makes the film a wonderful experience. |
Veedinthe Review
STARRING : Vikram, K Viswanath, Deeksha Seth, Sana MUSIC : Yuvan Shankar Raja DIRECTOR : Susinthran RELEASE DATE : December 30th, 2011 Below Average A new film by hero Vikram always heightens the expectations of his fans. Vikram is known for his novel and high voltage action films. Let us see what Vikram has come up with in his new film 'Veedinthe'. Story: The story is all about a happy go lucky boy Fire Sankar (Vikram). He is a gym boy and he works as a junior artist in films - playing mostly the role of a one of the gang members of the villain. Vikram comes across an old man Dakshinamurty (K Viswanath). He has a problem. His son is after his property as he wants to gift it to a powerful lady politician 'Akka' the president of the Pagati Chukka Party. In return he expects Akka to give her a party ticket to contest as MLA. However Dakshinamurty is not ready to give way the 25 acres land to his son as he and his wife have built a beautiful orphanage that give shelter to thousands of children. Dakshnamurty's son and the goons of Akka, along with a powerful land mafia don Mustafa (Pradeep Rawat) are after him but he is rescued by Sankar and kept in his house. Sankar also falls in love with Deeksha Seth. He is helped in his wooing her by Dakshinamurty. Dakshnamurty's son acts as if he has realized his mistake and also makes his father believe that Vikram is actually after his property. The orphanage finally gets into the hand of Akka. The rest of the story is how Sankar takes on Akka and ensures that the orphanage is back in the hands of Dakshinamurthy. Performance: The film is Vikram show all the way. He is as usual. He also enthralls his fans in as many as 17 different get ups. K Viswanath shows his caliber. He is very good in the first half, particularly when he helps Vikram in wooing his love Deeksha Seth. Deeksha Seth has very little to do and she is okay. Sana gets to play a big role as a powerful lady politician. She does a good job. Pradeep Rawat is okay as villain. Analysis: Veedinthe is a simple story of a young man who aspires to become a big villain in films. He is a kindhearted guy. The story is too simple and the screenplay is too dull to enable Vikram to come up with something special. The film is entertaining in the first half and builds up some momentum. However the second half is slow and the film drags on and on before reaching a predictable ending. Verdict: The fans of Vikram go to the film with high expectations. While Vikram does not disappoint, it is the story and screenplay that play spoilsport. The direction is also weak. The end result of the film is same and predictable. Veedinthe is an average film and definitely not among the best from Vikram. |

Exam Preparation...
1. Skills You Need To Plan, Prepare and Win Exams.
An effective approach to examination technique enables students to enter the examination room with a clear idea of the skills they wish to demonstrate, with a realistic expectation of what the questions will be like, and with the intention of using the questions to demonstrate as much knowledge as possible. This active approach to examination technique enables students to be in control of the situation. However, some students approach examinations with a fatalistic attitude, rather like helpless victims facing torment. They respond passively to the questions and then hope for the best. The first approach is more likely to succeed.
2. Strategies To Tackle Examination :-
1. Make A Mental Plan, Use Mnemonics & Spider Diagrams
Students could plan to jot down, some of your mnemonics or spider diagrams before you start answering any question. In that way, you can refer back to your plan when writing your answer, without fear of forgetting what you were going to write next.
2. Express Your Knowledge & Learn To Link Concepts
It can be quite frustrating to do a lot of revision and then find that you are not asked questions that reflect what you have learned. However it sometimes happens that examination questions give you the opportunity to express your knowledge. For example, if you have learned a lot about the psychoanalytic and humanistic approaches for unit 1 (Introduction To Psychology) but a ten-mark question asks you to evaluate the biological approach you can still use base of other supporting approaches to criticise or contrast the idea of biological approach.
3. Prepare A Skeleton Plan Before You Write Long Answer
For long answers, it is useful to jot down a skeleton plan of the answer before you start. That way you can empty your head of detail in one go so you don't have to think of things as you go along. The plan should be in very brief note form and should list only main points you want to include in your answer. This will also help you to order the points logically and spot gaps if any.
4. Learn To Cope With Exam Stress
In examinations, people tend to be fairly highly aroused, and this often has positive effects. They think more clearly and quickly, and write more fluently. If you feel a little anxious before an examination, do not worry about it. Remember, it may improve your performance. However, a few people become so anxious about examinations that their high arousal level leads to a worsening of performance. It is quite important for such people to find ways of coping with their anxiety.
However, one way is to try to control the way you think about the exams. If you find yourself thinking or saying things, which reflect negative thoughts, you should try to stop yourself as it is no good saying to yourself (or to others) 'I am no good at exams.' That can easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you really believe you are no good at exams, you may not bother to revise properly, because you assume it will not lead to success, Because of this, you may perform poorly.
Someone who is overanxious about exams should try to think of some positive thoughts, such as 'I have done enough revision for my exam' and exams never hurt anyone'. Of course, it is essential that you really have done enough revision and prepared well for the examinations. A useful plan is to think through or visualize what will happen during the examination so as to gain control over the situation.
Writing Practice & Revision - Must Before Exams
Students must read throughly their study notes several times to possess an adequate grasp on theories, principles and applications of a subject. Practice in writing essays is essential, especially for students who have not written essays for a considerable time. Examiners recognize that essays written under hurried circumstances and stress need not be grammatically perfect, but they do demand certain minimum standards and will penalize students whose written presentation is not up to a scratch. Accordingly, the students should avoid using vague, meaningless statements, should try to spell correctly, and seek to cultivate a direct and forthright style using short clear sentences. Analysis helps in prediction and if you're too lucky predictions can hit jackpot. So keep analyzing past exams' question papers.
Analysis Of Past Exams Question Papers Helps
Analysis of past examination papers provides a valuable insight into how the examiners feel about the subject. Often, the same questions reappear year after year, albeit written slightly differently. While it is obviously useful to predict questions, students should always remember that no question could ever be guaranteed to come up. Also, syllabuses and examiners change, each examiner has personal preferences regarding the content and style of questions that need to be asked.
Time Management Is Crucial While Writing Exam
The first few minutes of the time allocated to each answer should be used for jotting down the main points of the answer in an essay plan. Thereafter the following rules should be observed:
- The time allowed for each answer (a three-hour paper demanding five answers permits 36 minutes per question) must be adhered to rigidly. As soon as period is up the student should move on to the next question.
- Students should leave a space at the end of the question in order to be able to come back to the question if they have any spare time at the end of he examination.
- Easy questions should be answered first. This increases the student's confidence, assists concentration and establishes rhythm for tackling the rest of the paper. However, students should not spend too much time on easy questions and objective type questions. Time is crucial and answers should be accurate to avoid negative marking. Each answer needs to be of approximately equal length.
- It is well established fact that the bulk of a candidate's marks obtained on a specific question are achieved in the first 10 or 15 minutes of writing; extra marks then become progressively harder to obtain. By spending too long on a question the student only gets a fraction of the marks available for the first couple of paragraphs of the next answer.
How To Study ? Tips To Prepare For Exams
Each student is different. You may find some study techniques effective which other people find unhelpful. An important part of learning to study is to try out different techniques, adapt them and so find out what works best for you. The key guidelines can be summarized as follows:
- Build up a set of clear condensed revision notes, right from the start.
- Practice expressing psychological ideas.
- Use memory aids.
- Self-test regularly.
- Plan your revision ahead.
- Know what to expect on exam day.
